MATURITY?

From my book 'A Little More Than Ordinary"
for all my friends and visitors on this blog... This poem

written sometime in 1992 had won first prize in
a local competiton where poems in any language were
permitted. This one was the only entry in English..

When my mother died
I openly cried
Because I was a child
I was spontaneous..

When my father died
Only my heart cried
Eyes couldn't
Because
I had grown-up

Now that humanity is dying
Neither my heart
Nor my eyes are crying
and I wonder
Have I become mature...?
