Unkempt, Ghastly, Cruel..
Giving Unpleasant Surprises to Mirror Too
Is it being cruel on myself
if I go unkempt putting on a ghastly looking,
crumpled attire for my evening walks...
and then say 'hello' to anyone and everyone
meeting me on the way
with a sparkle or as someone says a 'glint'
in my eyes and glow on my face..
I mean it is OK , isn't it..
And those who turn their faces
well, do they exist ..really..
do they, in my small happy world..?
Those who matter to me and know it
respond with a smile
and that is enough...
and being unkempt or shabby
and indifferent to looks is not cruel, isn't it....
and sometimes it is alright
if I am caught
giving unpleasant surprises to mirror too..

So very true!
you respond with a smile that makes everything else fade away
ReplyDeleteA smile is a curve that puts things straight and your poem has proved that , RS.
