For Rebecca's Haiku My Heart
and Haiku Horizons... prompt : Storm
Inspired by Rebecca's Haiku
RIPE POMEGRANATES
With her hair flying
she jumps to catch the pink fruit;
wind storm lashes out
*
Wind storm lashes out,
humble tree lets some fall;
ripe pomegranates..
***
Ripe Pomegranates;
she plucks crystal juicy seeds
lovingly for him
*
lovingly for him
she picks some pink guava too;
ripe pomegranates
*
ripe pomegranates;
he fondly remembers those
trees in his garden
*
trees in his garden
tell stories of his childhood;
she finds them juicy
*
she finds them juicy;
sadly those trees no more grow
ripe pomegranates
*
ripe Pomegranates;
she plucks crystal juicy seeds
lovingly for him

I imagine the stained fingers and juice flowing over my throat. My blouse isn't ruined; it's time to make some dye. Pastels change to fall/winter reds.
ReplyDeleteA romantic and `juicy`image, Ramesh!! the fruits of goddesses.

Storms are good for something: letting the pomegranates fly!

I really like your perspective on this prompt. Very uplifting and positive! I also like how you lengthened the Haiku into a poem with so much more than just 3 lines and 17 syllables while staying true to the structure and configuration of a Haiku. Very Awesome!
