Moment
A Mother's Resolve..
Ah, fortitude;
she goes through all the troubles
unscathed, strong
Unscathed, strong;
testing moments deter not
a mother's resolve
A mother's resolve
to give her best to children;
ah, fortitude
***
Unprompted..spontaneous..
Sun shines bright
on top of my head;
shadow shrinks
Shadow shrinks
just under my feet;
I look down
I look down
and lo, my shadow
too looks back
***
Unprompted..spontaneous..
Sun shines bright
on top of my head;
shadow shrinks
Shadow shrinks
just under my feet;
I look down
I look down
and lo, my shadow
too looks back

Lovely and well penned cascading haiku ~ Enjoy ^_^
ReplyDeleteI sit a while to contemplate your haiku's.
ReplyDeleteVery enjoyable.
I think I would be more than a little startled to see my shadow staring back at me!

I simply run out of adjectives when I talk about a mother's love. You portrayed the thought very well, Sir! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd, in the second haiku-set...
"I look down
and lo, my shadow
too looks back" was brilliant. It made me chuckle. :D
I loved your haiku! it's so difficult to find the words to express mother's emotion but you penned it well! great writing!

Two lovely haiku chains. Yes, we must be strong to be parents. And I love the idea of my shadow looking back up at me!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed both sets. Especially the last line with the shadow.
ReplyDeleteI picture you walking in the sun in a dusty, India-street (Yes, I've visited your country - ages ago). Wonderful haiku Ramesh!
ReplyDeleteYou're shadow is watching you, and worse - following you
ReplyDeleteI chose a similar idea .. a parent's fortitude - but from a father's perspective :) well done certainly no mother that lack fortitude
ReplyDeletea wonderful ode to mother! lovely, sir!
ReplyDeleteBeauty, Glory, Joy, Pain & Fortitude.
The goddess of fortitude is a mom.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing the strength you find on becoming a parent, inner fortitude indeed.
