Written for OSI Prompt : Wheat... Haiku Heights : Breathe
A haiku...that stems from my heart...
Aroma of raw wheat
From the puffed-up ‘Roti’
From the puffed-up ‘Roti’
Happily I breathe..
We hail from Punjab, so my wife, when she came to know about this prompt expressed spontaneously...
"What will we eat
If there were no Wheat"
And a surprised me
Exclaimed, "How sweet!"
By : RS : )
Coming from the South RS, if there is no Rice we eat wheat :D I simply love the aroma of freshly ground wheat and when puffing it over the flame!!

some aroma's can just send you to your happy place! Mine is rose but I will make a point of catching a whiff of some fresh cracked wheat and store that scent in my memory!
ReplyDeleteYour wife is a poet
ReplyDeleteand didn't know it.
In the States we have a little ditty that goes:
"I'm a poet
and don't know it.
But my feet show it
they're Longfellows"
..
Excellent! Your haiku did bring the aroma wafting from the laptop screen!
ReplyDeleteLol, was your surprise a reaction to your wife's spontaneity?
