Night Embroiders Stars.. for HMH

It's Friday... a special Haiku Day for Rebecca's Haiku My Heart..

And as usual here I am ... the haikus were born as I was having my morning walk with trees flanking the road from both sides...and what I heard is what gave the first line..

Clamouring of birds
Stars quietly dim a goodbye
Moon fades in silence

****

Sun spreads a white sheet
Folds it neatly in layers
And calls it a day

****

I don’t plan a thing
Day unfolds itself and I
Just receive its gifts..

****

White sheet turns black, and
Lo, night embroiders stars, and
Stitches a Moon too.

  8. Let me wrap my head around this...you go for your morning walk and these words fall from the sky and flow thru you onto paper? I want to walk where you walk if such wonderful words would fall to me.

    Thank you Ramesh.

  10. Ramesh,
What I love about your haikus, and they just keep getting better and better by the way, is that the sun, moon and stars busy themselves with humble household and domestic tasks that we all share--those tasks that make the world a neater, and more beautiful place to be. I like that thought of heavenly bodies being engaged in homely tasks. Somehow it is comforting, joyful and makes me feel closer to the world.
    Peace and Light,
    Noelle

  11. I am always amazed at how you really have the gift of simply and beautifully saying what is in your haikus. You think in haikus! I also caught the word fold in your second haiku and I know that Rebecca used that word, too. Fold, unfold. Words I need to hear today.

  12. How comforting your haiku is, like a child's lulabye, leading to sweet dreams among the moon and stars.

Thank you for soothing my heart.

  13. Hi Ramesh~ So beautiful how you often personify celestial bodies in their daily ebbs and flows~ Here the patterns couldn't be more poetic. Reminds me somewhat of a play in which curtains go up and down, spotlights beam and darken... A lovely, lovely gift!
