Day 12
Prompt: Koi Pond
She
sits on the edge
of Koi pond, mesmerised;
ah,
colourful fish
Ah,
colourful fish
try
to catch her reflection;
moon
floats serenely
Moon
floats serenely
amidst the fish in koi pond;
a
birds flies over
A
bird flies over
betraying
nightly silence;
moon-lit
water shines
Moon-lit water shines,
her
smile creates ripples;
she
sits on the edge

Hypmotic is a beautiful word.. you made my day..
DeleteRS

Siggi
Elegance of your comment Mesmerises me...
DeleteRS
I'm on the edge much of the time too, but I'm not nearly as serene as the one of whom you write!
ReplyDeleteSchools of Koi
MMT.... I am sure you have had your moments ...thanks a lot... I have often wondered about what name and face you have...and it's alright...
DeleteRight now I see a face in my mind's eye which has a very serene look..
RS
Beautiful experience narrated in this fine haiku.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot... but I always write from mmy imagination...by being in the place myself...taking a flight of thoughts...and just put what I see...
DeleteRS
By that, i mean experience of the person or character you are depicting. Beautiful indeed.
DeleteA bird flies over, betraying the nightly silence. Usually birds are still at night. What do you wish to convey ? I didn't understand.
ReplyDeleteKalpana...
DeleteTake it as an innocent flight of a poetic mind...Haiku is all about creating images...and I bet you did see a bird flying over...even if it usually doesn't happen...enjoy the flight of imagination..why make an effort to understand...few things need to be left the way they happen to be...
Regards,
Ramesh Sood
So very beautiful! Mayb the bird is an owl? ;)
ReplyDeleteHa, ha, ha..thanks Pranita..to come to my rescue...
DeleteRS
I agree with Pranita. The bird could be an owl. Thanx
DeleteYou always manage to find beautiful words for your responses to prompts. I tend towards the pragmatic, and regret it!
ReplyDeleteOh, Viv.. a poet shares from the heart... I wish to continue to practice happiness....and therefore ..keep trying to see happiness and joy spread all around..,as a matter of choice..
DeleteRS
I love how your set takes a full circle... Awesome Ramesh ji!
ReplyDeleteI started this style...and don't know if I pioneered it...but let me share the link of that poem here with you:

I am sure you will like it..
Thanks for your comment... I do try that each should be able to stand on its own too...
RS
Fascinating and RS you have outdone yourself here today!! :)
ReplyDeleteThe imagery here is superb....
'Moon floats serenely
amidst the fish in koi pond;
a birds flies over'
Must add that every line with ref to the Moon is a pleasure to read!!
Aha, Nanka...I got this 'have outdone yourself' for perhaps third time if I can recall...this is what really helps me... when I sit to write ..such wishes help my heart, mind and soul become one and I see things in my mind and the words flow...they really do..don't know from where...perhaps they are born out of the positive energy all the kind hearts release here in this space..
DeletePlease keep visiting...I read your haiku..and what colourful pictures you have... will ask someone to help me find a way to comment on your haiku..
RS
