Known Streets All...

Written for
One single Impression  prompt # 201: Change
Haiku Heights               prompt # 100: Travel

A Series of Haiku ... Known Streets All

Travel in new year
Change in attire makes my
mirror image smile...

****

Oh, back of my head
feels a different pillow
Irritating, that!

****

I often
Travel to my past
Known streets all..

****

 I need some courage
for my own inward journey
Hangs high on a tree..

Tears Shine, I Smile..

Haiku for Rebecca's Haiku My Heart..

a series yet each one is independent too...

Tears Shine, I Smile

Sun shines on my face;
I start feeling good but he
pulls me from behind..

My dreams turn cold,
freeze, melt and then roll out;
tears shine, I smile…

Ah, I look ahead;
new year approaches with
a bundle of new dreams..

Myriad colours;
I consult with butterfly
to choose happiness

Flowers whisper
as they suddenly smell joy;
Ecstatic birds

Trees  sway and dance
without fearing their shadows;
Sun shines on my face..

I RESOLVE ONCE AGAIN ..

Written for  THREE WORDS WEDNESDAY..

Demolish; verb: Pull or knock down; comprehensively refute; overwhelmingly defeat (informal); eat up food, rapidly (humorous).

Resolution; noun: A firm decision to do or not to do something;

Transform; verb: Make a thorough or dramatic change in the form, appearance, or character of; undergo such a change.

I RESOLVE ONCE AGAIN...

As I look back
It becomes as clear
As a divine conscience, that
It would have been
so easy for me
to have kept my resolutions
which I went on making
year after year
for my own transformation
into someone ‘new’
had I shown some
courage to demolish
the ‘old’ me or at least
some portion of it…but...

Well, doesn’t matter
here comes another year
and with a glint in my eyes
I resolve once again …

Let the Mornings Make Their Own Pictures..

Written for 3WW

Belief; noun: An acceptance that a statement is true or that something exists; Faith, or confidence in someone or something.

Festive; adjective: Of or relating to a festival, cheerful and jovially celebratory.

Rumple; verb: Give a creased, ruffled, or disheveled appearance to; noun: An untidy state.

Let the Mornings Make Their Own Pictures..

Lost in festivities, if
I dance, sing and have fun
Till late in the night
And then if it’s your belief
That one shouldn’t carry
A rumpled look
The next morning
Then so be it
I would rather
Ask you to join me
And wear a festive mood
Let the mornings
Make their own pictures
In their minds...
Seeing us rumpled
Well, few days to go….

He Filled His Hands With Snowflakes..

Written for Jingle Poetry at The Gooseberry Garden....
picked up the theme as.. Snow..

He Filled His Hands With Snowflakes..

He filled his hands
With snowflakes
And let them slip through
To fall in her hands
As she waited in excitement
They melted
Just like that moment…

I (P)enjoy Writing...

Posted for One Single Impression
prompt: Inkpot
Thanks to Nessa of http://vanessavkilmer.com/  for a very unique and different prompt....
Putting the post a day earlier..tmrw could be hectic..
didn't want to miss my appointment with OSI....

I (P)enjoy Writing..!!

White sheet of paper
And the poet in me
Got tempted
As the thoughts
From the heart
Started flowing,
I scribbled
“Presence of pain
In my heart doesn’t mean
I am not happy……”
Suddenly, a lump in throat
And a tear from the eye
Rolled out and fell
On the paper
The word ‘Pain ’ got
Scattered and diluted
Had to because I still
Write with an ink-pen
And I love it, that’s why
My table drawer has
A permanent companion
My ink-pot, forever present
Yes, I pen-joy writing
And hey, haven’t I
Found a truth here:
Tears indeed dilute pain…

***

And a Haiku too...

Always leaves
stains on  fingers;

HE STILL STANDS THERE...

Written for 3WW..

Immobile; adjective: Not moving; motionless; incapable of moving or being moved.
Proximity; noun: Nearness in space, time, or relationship.
Retribution; noun: Punishment that is considered to be morally right and fully deserved.

HE STILL STANDS THERE...

Obsessed, he would
Follow her everyday
From a distance
Troubling her, teasing her
Never got favoured with
Proximity, one day
She turned and threw
A stone at him
With ‘smile’ written on it
He just stood there, awestruck
Next day as she slowly
Walked towards him
Oh, he turned absolutely immobile
She looked into his eyes
Pointed a finger
And said, “Statue!”
Turned and went away
It was her way of retribution
Life kept moving
He still stands there
In that moment, wondering...

And she must have raised a family
Playing 'Statue' with her kids..

“Can I Ever Be Her Knight?”

Written for One single Impression
Prompt: Knight

Thanks Amity for a beautiful prompt!!!

“Can I Ever Be Her Knight?”

"Two squares horizontally
 And one square vertically,
Or two squares vertically and
One square horizontally...,"
When she was teaching him
How the Knight moved
On the chess board
He was thinking
“Can I ever be her Knight?”
Lessons had continued, but he
Didn’t learn the right moves
And so, couldn’t be….

Let Your Heart Take Over...

Written for Three Words Wednesday...

Flag; noun: A piece of cloth or similar material, typically oblong or square, attachable by one edge to a pole or rope and used as the symbol or emblem of a country or institution or as a decoration during

Might; modalverb: In reported speech, expressing possibility or permission;

Passive; adjective: Accepting or allowing what happens or what others do, without active response or resistance.

Let Your Heart Take Over...

I love the visitors
To my page here
Some read and comment
Others might be choosing
To have a passive look
Yet the colourful flags
Fluttering on the sidebar
Make me feel having touched
And getting connected
With thinking minds
And warm hearts from almost
Half of the world
As I wait for the rest
For a happy embrace
I shall continue to extend
A hand of friendship
Through my words
With the hope of touching
Many more worlds
May more flags  flutter
In the winds of
Happiness and joy
Here on my page
May each and every word
Feel blessed
With your presence here
As you smile and let your heart
Take over to comment…

One Half of My Face Shines..

Written for
One single Impression
Thanks to Andree for the prompt: Sapid

December’s
Half Moon
One half of
My face shines
The other half
Wonders, I let it,
From a distance
I can see both and
Feel complete
That’s what
Gives life
A special taste

No, I don’t fear
Full Moon
Let it come
It will fill me
With some newer
Thoughts
May make
My soul shine
Life will not lose
Its sapid flavor
On New Moon night
It may turn a star..

My Words - Simple and Straight..

Written for 3WW and Sensational Haiku Wednesday

First 3ww...
Prompts: Mob, Jettison, Behave

My Words - Simple and Straight

My words have always
Behaved pretty nice and well,
Kept themselves simple
Never jettisoned humility
In spite of getting mobbed
By some atrocious thoughts
Of embellishment
Have never played
Against the rule or slipped
They do fear getting caught
And face a long sentence
My words – simple and straight
Say, I'll keep them that way...

No Fool's Paradise, that!

Written for One single Impression
Prompt: A Fool's Paradise..

Thanks to Leo for a wonderful prompt..

Since the poem reflects change and hope.. also sharing with
Jingle Poetry at The Gooseberry Garden Poetry Picnic Week 15,

No Fools Paradise, That !

'Thought I had left behind
A portion of myself
Took my perceived popularity for granted
But none missed me
Even my echo refused to respond
Hadn’t I been living in
A self- created fool’s paradise
Ah, realization brought
Me back to reality
Where happiness and joy
Had been scattered around
Waiting for me to pick them all
And I did it, and lo, in that moment
Galaxies stopped whirling
So what if it were for
A billionth of a second
I could see and feel universe applauding
Yes, I could experience
A paradise deep within me
In that one moment of blessing
Thank God it’s real this time
No fool's paradise, that!

****

A Haiku too...

I often visit
My abode in thoughts, call it
A fool's paradise ..

WHERE I HAD LEFT MY FEET..

My post # 401

Written for 3WW: Vindication, Impetus, Solace

Where I Had Left My Feet..

Your ascent
Vindicates my slide
Don’t take blame
Of pushing me
And giving impetus
To my descent
It will happen anyway
A steady fall
Towards my own
Ground, where
I had left my feet
While opting for wings
Offered by you
May give me solace
Yes, standing and
Walking back on
My own feet slowly
Climbing again
Could be interesting
Ah, this time I won’t
Have to carry
The constant burden
Of your likes and dislikes
Finally, I get my chance
To stand in my own light...

A VERY HAPPY THANK YOU, FRIENDS !

WELCOME TO

 2ND ANNIVERSARY OF

"A LITTLE MORE THAN ORDINARY"

(NOVEMBER 14, 2011  IST 1055 HRS.)

MY 400th POST

Written for OSI- Hourglass

A VERY HAPPY THANK YOU , FRIENDS

Two years, slipped
Like sand in the hourglass
But the love in the cyberspace
Flowed uninterrupted
As fellow poets and dreamers
Generous with their blessings
Left their footprints
On my page here…

Sunday’s One Single Impression
Encouraged my own expression
Three Words Wednesday
Never left much to play
Friday’s Haiku My Heart
5-7-5 makes one think smart
And then it was a sheer delight
To write haiku for Haiku Heights

Poetry Potluck brought me luck
Ah, this space gave me friends
Who adorned my page with their flags
Fluttering in myriad colours
Fortunately some of us find
Each other much nearer, as
Good wishes of all push me forward
And I find newer roads ahead...

Bless me with a smile on your face
As I wanna dance with you to celebrate
Second Anniversary of my page
And this 400th “ Thank You” post
Let some love spill here from your heart
In this ever expanding world of thoughts
For me you are a friend, growing and evolving
Undoubtedly “A Lot More Than Ordinary”…..

****

And a breathing Haiku...

So many footprints
Of loving souls , like flowers
Blooming in my heart...

I Break the Hourglass..

My Post # 399

Written for One single Impression...
Prompt : Hourglass
Thanks to Julie of 365 for this week's prompt, hourglass

I Break the Hourglass..

Slipping sand
In the hourglass
Makes me count moments
Finding it difficult to
Take it any more
I break the hourglass
Splattered grains of sand
Shine as each one of them
Get stuck on my 'Present'
And then slowly slip down
Melding with the
Fractured ground of the 'Past'
That slowly keeps emerging
Only to be left behind
And I focus on making
Every moment count...

Tomorrow is my date with 400th on OSI... and Second Anniversary of my Blog.. do join me here and wish me so that I can continue to write and share.....

My Friend or My Obsession

My Post # 398
12.11.2011

Written for HAIKU HEIGHTS PROMPT: OBSESSION

Missed Hugging Moon

Saw it on the edge

Yet couldn’t catch it

Missed hugging Moon, my friend
Or my obsession?

A real talent that

And if it’s not there someday
I imagine it.

And hear the same melody
Soothing to my soul

Soothing to my soul
comes in my window and sings
A little birdie..

No more fear of jerks,

No More Fear of Jerks..

Written for 3WW prompts : Carnage, Jerk, Puncture..

No More Fear of Jerks..

“Hey don’t let my ego
Get punctured ever, protect it
Else, you won’t be able
To see my bruised ego
Going on a rampage
Wreaking a Carnage
Killing your dreams …,”
The voice trailed off..
I suddenly found myself
Waking up as I felt
A kind of jerk to my body
Ah, heap of my dead dreams
What  would it look like
Oh, didn’t he talk about
Dreams which revolved around him
And that’s when I realised that
I could pick-up bundles of
Brand new ones
Unaffected by his colossal
Presence wherever
The thought made me feel at peace
And I quietly went back to sleep…
